KERSBROOK FIRE IS CONTAINED

ISSUED FOR WATTS GULLY ROAD, KERSBROOK

CFS wishes to advise that the Kersbrook fire is now contained. CFS crews have worked throughout the night to extinguish the fire and put in control lines. Today (4 Jan 2020) there are firefighters working across the fireground to strengthen control lines and blackout the fire.


Due to increasing fire weather conditions forecast for the middle of next week (8 Jan 2020) the CFS will continue to patrol the fireground over the next few days to ensure the fireground is safe.

Road Closures
Watts Gully and DeLoraine Roads remain closed at Tier 3 meaning that residents with appropriate identification are now able to return to their properties. It is anticipated that all roads will be opened at approximately 6:00pm this evening.

The Highbury Relief Centre, 1000 Lower North East Road, is opened for community members affected by the Kersbrook fire.

The CFS encourages members of the public to be watchful and report any unattended visible flames on 000.
